When customers have conservatories built they are often not made aware, by the conservatory companies, that they need some protection on the roof to help prevent against glare and heat loss / gain. They know that roof blinds can be expensive and, if they advise the customer of this, they may lose their sale. Conventional vertical, venetian, pleated or roller blinds around the sides of the conservatory do give some protection but the main heat gain and loss is through the roof. Pleated roof blinds can be the answer but, for polycarbonate roofs, there is also the much cheaper and more effective option of solar inserts.

Solar inserts are fed into the channels of the polycarbonate roof and convert the conservatory, in summer, from an unusable glary hot house to a cool light and comfortable living space. In winter, the inserts act as an insulator keeping the heat in and allowing you to use the conservatory all year round.
